Our Yoga Teachers
What makes the program work? The answer is YOGA TEACHERS who are motivated by:
COMPASSION · NEWLY ACQUIRED SKILLS · ECONOMIC BENEFITS
COMPASSION
There is compassion in every human heart. Bringing yoga into the lives of economically disadvantaged seniors elevates compassion to another level. The gratitude expressed by the participating seniors represents the highest possible reward for a yoga teacher.
NEWLY ACQUIRED SKILL
With close to 20 million yoga practitioners in the U.S., the profession of yoga teaching is becoming highly competitive and demands an ever more professional approach, including specialization of teaching skills. Yoga Alliance, a widely recognized yoga organization, requires that its members comply with the professional standards established for obtaining the required Continuing Education Units. The Silver Age Yoga Basic Online Course qualifies for 15 CEU's while the Advanced Hands-On Course provides 8 CEU's.
ECONOMIC BENEFITS
Rigorous training and demand for professional performance assures Silver Age Yoga teachers of unquestionable credentials and qualifies them to teach yoga to seniors at any level. Our teachers experience the positive results of their Silver Age Yoga training. They receive preference in hiring, access to special job opportunities, and higher compensation. Our teachers, after completing their community service (which they agree to perform in exchange for a partial tuition rebate) now are being employed as independent contractors, earning $40 per class paid by Silver Age Yoga.
