Curriculum

COURSE STRUCTURE:

The course consists of two parts:

  • Senior health issues and how yoga addresses them
  • Practical aspects of establishing and maintaining a financially viable yoga business and/or Community Outreach program.

Passing the quizzes on the material covered in the first part (Senior Health & Yoga) leads to the final exam, which must be passed in order to become certified as a Silver Age Yoga teacher.

STUDY MATERIALS:

  • Printed study book detailing senior health issues and how Silver Age Yoga addresses them.
  • 89 Silver Age Yoga asanas with benefits and precautions indicated, including a model class description.
  • Anatomy book.
  • DVD: Yoga in the Silver Years with corresponding poses modeled.
  • DVD: Silver Age Yoga I and II.
  • CD: Silver Age Yoga Community Outreach Business Tool Kit, including sample forms, media kit, and public presentations.

Study materials are mailed within 3 business days of receipt of payment.

REQUIRED STUDY TIME/TIME LIMIT

Time to complete the program typically takes between 55 and 65 hrs. The time limit to pass the final exam is one year from the date of registration.

YOGA ALLIANCE CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS (CEUs)

25 CEUs earned upon completion of program.
